In 2018, various NYC labor groups were organizing against the proposed new headquarters for Amazon. In support of these on-thr-ground efforts, I created a campaign around a (now defunct) Google Chrome plug-in called "Block Amazon For me", which blocked Amazon-owned e-commerce websites.
From previous activist campaigns that I've been involved with, I knew the narrative was more important that the actual plug-in, so I sent out a press release from "a group of disgruntled NYC tech workers" and received extensive local and national media coverage. I was able to direct this attention towards the messages being pushed by organizations I wanted to support.
